Over the years he has built up a team of trusted contractors and suppliers with the same high standards, making the whole experience as stress-free as possible.

Gardens evolve and change through the seasons and take time and effort to keep them looking their best. Richard founded his garden maintenance company, Key Gardencare in 2005, to provide the same first-class service to his clients as his Landscape Design company.

His team of gardeners bring everything required to look after your garden, so you really can just sit back and relax.

Where clients live abroad or at a considerable distance away then travel expenses will be agreed before the appointment.

“Great garden design starts with clear communication; every client is different. For me an integral part of the design process is to get a clear understanding of what it is that clients want from their garden; it must work for them as every client is different and it is never purely about the aesthetics.

For example, a client may have small children and want a garden that their children can enjoy safely, so when looking at plants, a non-toxic planting scheme, as well as a child-friendly overall design, would be a consideration. It is from here that we can start to build a picture of the garden and pull together a garden design.”

It is essential for any garden design to work sympathetically with the adjacent architecture to provide a seamless extension of the indoor space.
